This blog is a down-to-earth look at a traditionally snobbish hobby of wine tasting and wine rating.
Tasting Policy
All my wine-tasting entries are meant for entertainment purposes but are deemed reliable by me. I don’t have any problem with maintaining objectivity and have no desire to avoid conflicts of interest. I say this to make it known that I am free accept samples from wineries and/or distributors to help defray the costs of purchasing all the wines that are reviewed here. Please contact me if you would like to donate wines to be reviewed.

How about comparing some of the wine you get with Texas bottlings?
I’ve tried a couple of interesting Reds & a surprising Viognier at La Bodega’s DFW airport bar & shop– the original one, Terminal A, I just had a chance to browse the bigger new location on my way to San Francisco a year ago.
I also just visited Raffaldini in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley
& Villa Appalaccia & Chateau Morrissette in Floyd, Virginia & believe a case (!) can be made for an American adoption/adaptation of that sometimes overused, sometimes controversial French concept of ‘terroir’…

Oops– in my comment above, I meant the well-earned recognition of your blogging smarts (–meaning, the well-crafted integration of journalism, marketing & personal genres) from Russ ‘Winehiker’ Beebe, in the form of a sampler case of high-end wine.

David, thanks for the suggestions. See my post on the problem with TX wines.
In any case (!), I will be making an inventory and reviewing each bottle that comes in the prized case from Russ.
…oh, and about the “terroir” thing, I’m not quite there yet!
