Cork: Authentic
Name: Joseph Cattin Riesling Grand Cru
Type: Riesling
Vintage: 2006
Region: Alsace
Country: France
Producer: Help?!
Price: $17.99
Purchased at: Cheers Liquormart
Date: 06/01/08
Served With: Can’t remember, been drinking it a lot
Appearance: Light golden, sparkling with hints of thirst quenching ability
Aroma: Earthy mineral-like qualities that I can’t describe. Some light grapefruity/lemongrass as well.
Taste: Hits the tip of the tongue with initial sweetness that quickly evaporates mid-palate into a tasty and refreshing dry wine. Finishes clean with no aftertaste and no lingering sweetness that causes dry mouth.
Comments: Loving this stuff right now. I guess you could say I’m branching out but I’ve found nothing better on a hot summer eve than a crisp, clean and refreshing white wine. This wine is low on the sweetness scale as graphcially represented at the Cattin website. I haven’t found much better bang for the buck either as this Grand Cru comes in at under $18 a bottle. I had to add a category here as I never thought I’d review a Riesling! However, there are more in store!

I hear you Dan but It took this dry Riesling to get me convinced. Most of the others are too sweet!
