I don’t think that either of the above definitions apply to this running commentary providing down-to-earth wine reviews. That’s why I prefer to use the Jeff Foxworthy definition:
Redneck: “A glorious absence of sophistication.”
All that being said, this review site is not a spin-off of any of Foxworthy’s material that I’m aware of (though I might slip in a couple of redneck jokes here an’ there).
I have occasion to drink wine from time to time with friends and because we’re all so far from wine snobs I had the idea to create this blog and have a little fun. You won’t see much of the traditional verbiage that typically describes wine in other wine reviews yet it’s not because I disagree in any way with any of those other folks or their reviews. It’s that I don’t speak the fancy language…or rather, I don’t have that verbiage in my vocabulary. …yet
We often use terms like “bitey”, “instant heartburn”, “metalic” and “spicey” and a host of others that only come out after “tasting” a couple of glasses!
I’ll add several reviews each week – as my wallet permits. I look forward to your feedback!
