Geyser Peak
Cork: Real cork
Name: Geyser Peak
Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: California, Alexander Valley
Country: USA
Producer: Geyser Peak Winery
Price: $11.61
Purchased at: H.E.B.
Date: 09/26/05
Served With: Ala Carte or as I like to call it…after supper
Appearance: Plummy, medium body, NO legs (this is usually the first bad sign!)
Aroma: Mostly smells like rubbing alcohol, slightly oaky
Taste: Umm…Ok. Not special but not specially bad either. It’s a little thin for my tastes but drinkable mutliple times per week. It’s got some tannin tastes, or “bitey” as my friends say.
Comments: Overall it’s not bad. It’s not outstanding but I could drink it again for the price.
==============================================
Quick follow-up as I drink another glass of this Geyser Peak the following day- after a day of airing out it’s pretty much the same but it has mellowed a bit. Some short legs are now visible but it’s a bit alcoholy tasting. I’m not going to change the rating but I thought I should at least update the legs issue.
